Our Standing Resolutions

Resolution 1 Constitutional Government and Limited Government Authority
The government should operate within constitutionally prescribed powers and should not exceed delegated authority or unnecessarily infringe individual liberty.

Resolution 2 Due Process and Equal Protection
The government should provide fair notice, a meaningful opportunity to be heard, impartial decision-making, and equal application of the law before depriving a person or business of liberty, property, rights, licenses, or other legally protected interests.

Resolution 3 Private Property and Government Takings
WLC supports strong constitutional protection of private property and opposes uncompensated or coercive governmental takings and arbitrary interference with lawful property use.

Resolution 4 Regulatory Overreach and Administrative Accountability
Government regulations and administrative actions should remain within statutory authority and should not impose unreasonable burdens or circumvent elected lawmakers.

Resolution 5 Free Enterprise and Economic Liberty
Individuals should generally be free to work, contract, build businesses, invest, develop property, and participate in lawful commerce without unnecessary governmental interference.

Resolution 6 Banking and Financial Due Process
The government should not use regulatory authority or influence over financial institutions to restrict lawful individuals or businesses because of political beliefs, lawful activity, or disfavored industries. Those affected should have transparency, due process, financial privacy, and an avenue to challenge government action.

Resolution 7 Judicial Independence and Access to Justice
Courts must remain available as a meaningful check on executive and legislative power, and citizens should have practical avenues to challenge unconstitutional governmental action.

Resolution 8 Free Speech and Viewpoint Neutrality
The government should neither censor lawful expression nor use governmental power, funding, regulatory authority, contracts, or access to public institutions to reward favored viewpoints or punish disfavored ones.

Resolution 9 Government Transparency and Accountability
WLC supports open records, transparent decision-making, understandable laws and regulations, accountability for public officials, and reasonable public access to government information.

Resolution 10 Federalism and Local Authority
Decisions should remain at the state or local level when the Constitution and applicable law place authority there, while recognizing that state and local governments are also constrained by constitutional protections.
